I am now in my third year of a Bachelor of Agricultural Production and Management at UNE in Armidale. I am currently visiting my parents property on the Darling Downs in Queensland, to pregnancy test our breeders and wean our calves as well as break-in weaners for up coming cattle camps that my younger sisters attend yearly. My family breeds Charolais x Brangus cattle with great emphasis on quality and we also background cattle in good seasons like we are experiencing now. We also show steers and heifers at our local shows and occasionally the Brisbane Exhibition (EKKA).
I am also apart of the UNE Intercollegiate Meat Judging team and have just attended the Northern Conference and competition in Rockhampton. I am now currently training for the southern conference and competition based in Wagga Wagga later in the year. I have great interest in the agricultural sector, especially the beef industry although, I am still unsure as to what roll I will go into once completing university.
